I founded the Minga House Foundation in 2014 as a nonprofit organization to facilitate service-learning opportunities in the Colombian coffee region, primarily for university students from the United States and Canada. Then, in 2017, the Ministerio of Educación of Colombia asked me to help lead their Colombia Bilingüe public schools program in 67 municipalities with over 480 foreign native English teachers. Since then, over 200 private schools have requested that our Minga team assist them in selecting the most qualified teachers available. In the last couple of years, our services in Colombia have continued to grow to include school consultancy, English immersion camps, J1 VISA teacher recruitment for USA schools and summer camps, teacher service breaks, global education BA/MA, teacher preparation & onboarding programs, and a wide range of short-term volunteering programs.
